I came across Lyra Pramuk when putting together my list on friday morning of all the new releases to go through to figure out what's worth hearing and promoting to our audience in our weekly music roundup. Resident Advisors blurb said simply "No synths, no drums—no problem." and I was intrigued. The Berlin based composer uses only her voice layered and warped upon itself fusing classical training, pop sensibilities, performance art practices and contemporary club culture in what may best be described as futurist folk music (and very arca-esque). The album is beautiful from front to back but this track in particular stood out, in these fraught, chaotic times Lyra Pramuk was the musical discovery I needed in my life.
